  1. This was at the Cargo Bar at King Street, Wharf, Sydney earlier this year in May 2009 during the visit of Tanaka Sensei from SKIF Honbu Dojo in Japan. Jai whenever he was in Sydney from as long as I can remember was always rock solid dependable when it came to training and socialising with any and every international guest we had. Also his language skills and understanding of Japanese culture and etiquette was a great asset and made many a Japanese guest feel at ease. Aside from his great karate talent and work ethic I will remember Jai for the time he took to be social, to participate, to make time and to assist. He may not have been on committees or in organising but he was every bit the Association man, not in his talk but in his actions, always attending every camp, tournament, training seminar, in his usual unassuming way seeking no favour nor glory. I have no doubt he was like this with any group he got involved in. I'll miss being able to call on him ... a huge void is left behind that I don't believe anyone can ever fill. You were one of a kind.
